woodland wander //

A beautiful, chilly + bright sunny morning yesterday. Dobbie + I spent a bit longer than normal on our daily stomp up the track to the woods. The fact that it was sunny was mostly to do with it + me remembering my camera. It’s been so bleak recently that I haven’t bothered with the picture taking but it felt great to faff about with my camera, taking pics of all the little things that I was suddenly noticing thanks to the bright sunlight. While I was clicking away, Dobs got to have a run around for a lot longer.

It was great to spot a few golden catkins, (although, aren’t they out a bit early?!) saw a few pockets of snow on the ground, which reminded me of popping candy. Lovely lichen amongst the brown leaves + emerald green moss with their little orange spikes/hairs poking up in the sunshine.

It’s back to being a bit bleak again today. So, I’m in my shedspace, by the fire, trying to sketch up some new print ideas. They aren’t coming to me quite as quickly as they usually do at this time of year. Feels like a bit of an inspiration ‘block’ to me which is normal I guess, especially when there’s bigger thoughts distracting my designer brain at present.

I will keep you posted if any print/patterns suddenly pop-up. I hope something good appears on paper soon…
