one-of-a-kind // natural plant - dyes

Plant-dye results on natural cotton

I’ve really enjoyed hand printing onto my coloured, plant-dyed cotton. Some of the cotton lengths were hand-dyed this year + last year, just waiting patiently on the rack. With a window in between working on orders has allowed me to focus on mixing inks + play about with designs to complement the different plant-dyed colours. It’s been an inky time in the shedspace! I’ve loved both block printing + screen printing away, using a few of my favourite designs to make one-of-a-kind pieces.

With a dry + bright day yesterday, I managed to take some photographs of the cushions + lampshades I’ve been working on. The various coloured cottons were made using different dye-baths; eucalyptus bark, beetroot + the grey colours were made by adding rusty/iron water to the eucalyptus dye - magic!

These original designs have now been added to my shop - under ‘plant-dyed lampshades’ + ‘plant-dyed cushions’. You can enter the code PDNOV21 to receive a 10% discount on all plant-dyed items when you purchase through my website. This promotion will last up until the end of November - unique gift ideas for you + your home.
