big birthday // break-away

Back from a wonderful week spent up in The Lakes. We were due to go away for a long weekend a few weeks back to celebrate mine and our boy’s birthday but it wasn’t meant to be as Covid arrived instead and hampered our plans. Sadly, we lost out on that particular trip - what a stinker! Thankfully once we were back in action we booked a last minute break away to one of our favourite places and enjoyed a belated birthday trip.

After such a long gap between visits it felt amazing to see this beautiful place again. It felt like a giant hug if you know what I mean! We celebrated and marked my big 40th and Ethan’s 7th birthday (on the very same day!) with a week filled with lots of walking and exploring (and paddling!) in a very special location.

Blessed with fair weather and these fine views.

Beautiful yet blowy Buttermere

Rydal Water and Grasmere - Another long loop we love to walk which was extra special now the kids are that much bigger.

So many photo’s of a fun time away.

It will be time for me to head back to the shedspace next week and begin working on orders - thank you! Feeling happy that we decided to take some timeout - a much needed treat for us all. It has helped recharge us too after such a big disruption on entering the new year. I hope after this trip we can look forward to more positives this year.
